Fast and Efficient, How to Clean the House with the 20/10 Method

Cleaning the house is a routine that needs to be done to ensure you and your family are comfortable and healthy while on the move. However, cleaning the house can be something that many of us are reluctant to do.

Besides being tedious, cleaning the house can also be a tiring activity. However, there are methods you can use to make cleaning your house fast and efficient.

Reporting from Decor Tips, the method is the 20/10 method. The concept of this method is simple: 20 minutes of cleansing, followed by a 10 minute break.

This home cleaning method was discovered by Rachel Hoffman, author of Unf*ck your habitat and the website of the same name.

Hoffman admits that he is one of those people who find house cleaning boring. To help make this activity easier, he found a practical solution.

Hoffman explains, our busy modern lifestyle is complex enough, without the added stress of endless housework. She recommends taking a more relaxed approach to cleaning and tidying the house.

Who should use the 20/10 method?

Unlike many other house-cleaning guides, Hoffman's method was not designed with a specific audience in mind. Roommates, singles, couples, students, teens, the 20/10 method is suitable for anyone who doesn't like cleaning.

How to apply the 20/10 method

The 20/10 method is very simple. This method is designed for anyone and everyone, but especially those who find house cleaning a daunting task.

To help make things easier, Hoffman recommends setting specific times for work and rest.

More specifically, she recommends cleaning for 20 minutes, and then resting for ten minutes. While skipping breaks is strictly prohibited, you can use them to do whatever you like.

At the end of those 10 minutes, you can do the cleaning again, or continue on another day.
