Although fairly easy, the process of removing wallpaper requires full attention so as not to damage the walls and give a good looking finish.
It is important not to forcefully pull on the paper as this can make the process more difficult. Patience, in this case, is very important.
Here are four methods that can help remove old wallpaper, reported by Decor Tips, Sunday (31/10/2021).
Soap water
The first method of removing old wallpaper is to use soapy water. Wet the old wallpaper with enough water to soften it so it's easier to remove.
The wetter the paper, the easier it will be to peel it off and avoid the small pieces sticking together.
Then, in a bowl, mix the water with a little detergent. Once mixed, apply the liquid on the wallpaper with the help of a roller.
This will cause the paper to tear in several places and you can start removing it, then slowly lift the wallpaper from the bottom up.
Water with solvent
This process is very similar to the previous one. However, this method uses water with a special solvent, namely trisodium phosphate (TSP). You can buy this solution at a specialty store.
Use hot water and add the mixture to a container or spray bottle. Follow the directions on the product to find out how much solvent to use.
Once ready, spray the mixture onto the old wallpaper and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes before starting to remove it.
Steam
The third method of removing old wallpaper from walls is to use steam. This is a technique that is often used when other methods have not worked well.
You can use steam from a steamer at home. Unfortunately, not all have a steamer.
However, not to worry, you can pour water into the machine, spreading it directly onto the wallpaper. Like soapy water, paper will soften and peel off easily.

Products to remove old wallpapers
The only thing to keep in mind is that these are usually chemical based products which should be handled with care. Always wear a mask and gloves when using this product.
These products are available in specialty stores and some are very easy to use. Some, for example, come in spray form.
You can spray the product directly on the wall. Each product will have its own instructions for use and specifications for the amount to be applied.
