The bedroom is a very personal area in the house. Therefore, there is no harm in decorating the bedroom with your personal taste, including the color of the wall paint.
However, psychologists say, there are some wall paint colors that should be avoided for the bedroom. These colors to avoid fall into two categories, not those that irritate and give off a "dry" effect.
Reporting from Homes & Gardens, here are some colors that should not be chosen for bedroom wall paint according to psychologists.
You may have already guessed the color on this one. Lee Chambers, psychologist and mental welfare consultant, insists that red is strictly prohibited when choosing bedroom wall paint color ideas.
According to Chambers, red is a color that increases energy, social interaction and can even increase our blood pressure.
"While this may be perfect if you're feeling a little tired in the morning, it makes it very difficult to get a good night's sleep as your body and mind will be racing, stimulated by the intensity of the color," she explains.
If you're married, adds Chambers, the color red can be very unsettling, maybe even a late night debate, which makes it even more difficult for you and your partner to get a good night's sleep.
2. Yellow
Yellow is known as a cheerful color. This color gives a refreshing effect in the kitchen, study, or even the living room.
The idea of a yellow living room might be the answer to a room that needs to be brightened up. However, it is not a great choice for a bedroom.
Karen Haller, an expert in color and design psychology, and author of The Little Book of Color, explains that yellow is a color that stimulates the nervous system.
"You can wake up feeling irritated and that's not how you want to start the day," she says.

3. Gray
This color may be surprising. Because, many people choose gray for bedroom walls because it gives a shady and comfortable effect.
According to Haller, the calming effect of gray is short-lived, and quickly becomes an energy-draining color. He said, often gray is mistaken for relaxed, which may happen for a while.
"But spend a long time in gray, even while you're sleeping and it's likely to start to have a draining effect where you'll wake up tired and find yourself reaching for that double expression to wake up."
If you like neutral colors, you can choose white or cream for the bedroom walls.
